"I was born in Montreal, Quebec to Jamaican parents and raised on the South Shore. The importance of higher education was always impressed upon my siblings and myself so there was never a question as to whether I would go to school or not. Although achieving academically was a focus of mine, I was also encouraged to find a balance between studying hard
and having fun."
"I was heavily influenced by tv and old movies growing up. It was a treat to watch 'Charlie's Angels', and the 'A-Team' amongst other 80s shows. The first movie I ever saw in the theatre was 'Grease'. It seemed like the actors had so much fun dancing and singing and it was as if a lightbulb went on. I KNEW that I wanted to be involved with the entertainment industry in some capacity."
"At 16 years old my sister and I answered a 'call for talent' put out by Montreal casting director Lucie Robitaille. She put us on tape and hired us to work on set as background performers.I registered with all the top casting agencies and they called me when there was work. For close to 10 years after that, I continued to be hired as a vouchered background performer on numerous productions while I continued my studies and participated in fashion shows. In the early 90s my restless spirit led me to co-create and sing/write songs for my own band."
"In 1997, one year after giving birth to my daughter, I was hired as a stuntwoman on the production 'Soldier of Fortune'. It was exciting to have a professional outlet for my physical energy. Months later I got my full ACTRA membership and agent and started auditioning."
"I have studied with various teachers over the years including a course in Meisner Technique in 2000 with Jacqueline Mclintock, but I have seen the most personal progress at Carter Thor Studios East with Jock Macdonald."
"Everyday I strive to live in light and compassion."
